Hello again, I’m back so soon! Tonight I’ve got the other Polish Pickup shade to share with you this month. I’ve purchased many Swamp Gloss shades over the years, so I was so happy to win the opportunity to swatch this month’s PPU shade. Again, this month’s theme is “It Came from Outer Space” which I thought was a theme in the past, but I think I’m wrong. I did a little searching, but I can’t find another space PPU theme.

The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, May 3rd and ends on Monday, May 6th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it’s gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised…which can happen, but you have to be in the Facebook group for the notification) on the PPU website.

I love Swamp Gloss, and I love their branding. Give me more Swampy Sammie. Always Has been is a flakie bomb. It’s a holographic flakie base, with metallic and matte flakes and iridescent color-shifting flakes. It has a clear base, so I ended up using three coats for full opacity. That said, I didn’t find I needed any base color to cover the nail line (which you can totally do if you want to). I used a glitter-smoothing topcoat followed by a quick-dry topcoat to give a glassy-smooth finish. I could see this one looking cool with a matte finish, too.
